QE2 Model

Hello my name is Thomas Nicolai-Vargas. I have been building models since I was 12 years old. I build and repair oceanliner models. I have a screen credit as model maker on the movie "TITANIC". This is both a hobby and a side business of mine. My work is in many collections.

I started to design a custom scratch built model of Queen Elizabeth 2 in January of 2006. Model construction started that June. Web site under construction. Check back for updates.

Model is 1:250 scale. 46 inches long. Bass wood plank on frame, with custom photo etched overlays (upper hull, bulkheads, windbreaks, details). Small parts are resin castings. Also some small parts are thicker photo etched brass. ( Davits, Anchors, Web frames, Radar, Etc.) Approximately 1,200 hours have gone into research, design, and construction of this model.
